Playing the Grown-UpsThis digital project is about the life of people with genetic disorders in Russia. The goal was to profile the daily life challenges of such families. The main story unwraps around "Sincere Theater" – the only dramatic theater in Russia, where all actors have genetic disorders (mostly Down syndrome). This non-profit theater, which has been working without any government support, is the only social opportunity for many children and grown-ups with pronounced Down syndrome. In the stories of three actors of the theatre, I wanted to show their life behind the scenes, with everyday struggle for socialization, proper education and work.
The project was noticed by The Federation Council (upper house of the Federal Assembly of Russia). They set out to provide theater with permanent place for repetitions and play.
